As an OBC Recognized Beauty Professional, you will:

• Be listed in the Ontario Beauty Council public directory. As we work to review applications from Graduates of many Ontario Educational Institutes, the official OBC Recognized list will be published in Fall 2026.
• Showcase your OBC Recognized badge for use on your website and social media.
• Build trust with clients seeking qualified and industry recognized professionals.

Application Overview

To maintain the integrity of our directory, all applicants are required to submit:

• Professional and contact information
• Details of education and credentials (from approved institutions)
• Supporting documentation (certificate/diploma)
• Agreement to uphold OBC professional standards

All applications are carefully reviewed prior to approval.

Fees & Badge Privledges

• A one-time fee of $72 CAD (plus hst) is invoiced only after the application has been reviewed and accepted. This fee includes a OBC Recognized listing including all approved educational credentials, as well as a digital badge for use online. The badge may not be used in association with any services with certifications received from educational organization not recognized by the Ontario Beauty Council.
• Annual renewal is required to maintain active OBC recognition, listing and use of OBC badge. A renewal fee of $40 CAD (plus hst) is applicable at time of renewal. This fee includes updates to your listing to include additional approved continuing education credentials you may have earned over the course of the year. Listing updates may be requested anytime during the active listing period for a small fee of $10 CAD (plus hst).

All fees collected by the Ontario Beauty Council is utilized for administrative support, website maintenance, trade show participation and strategic marketing to gain awareness of our mission. Maintaining our lists of approved Career Colleges and Recognized Beauty Professionals ensure that all lists remain current, verified, and aligned with industry standards.

Our Standard

The Ontario Beauty Council is dedicated to ensuring that formal beauty education is delivered by regulated Ontario Career Colleges.

By applying, you confirm that:

• Your education has been completed through an approved institution from our list. If you do not see your school listed, please contact us to confirm. While we work to ensure updated lists, we may have missed a particular College and this will be our opportunity to list them. If they are not recognized, we will confirm in a reply to your inquiry.
• You practice within your scope of training.
• You follow proper sanitation, safety, and client care protocols.
• You represent your credentials honestly and professionally.

Before You Apply

Please ensure you have the following ready:

• Copies of your Diploma and/or Certificates
• Details of your Career College/ Training Institution and program
• You agree to take the following Ontario Beauty Council Beauty Professional Oath
  “I affirm that the information provided is accurate and that my education has been completed through an approved career college or accredited institution. I commit to practicing only within my scope of training, and to upholding the highest standards of safety, sanitation, and professionalism. I will represent my recognized credentials with honesty and integrity, in alignment with the standards of the Ontario Beauty Council”.
